This is your cousin Derek. I heard about your adventure from my Mom and I decided to google your name and see if anything came up. I've been randomly sampling your posts to get a feel for how things have been going. It looks like you've already mashed through a good chunk of the Western states and have carved a nice path through Mexico. I don't know if it was madness or genius that spurred you to this point, but either way, it looks like a pretty sweet ride.
If you are anywhere near the Troncones area (about 25 miles north of Zihuatanejo... just out of range of the cruise ship touristas) let me know. I have some friends that own a house there that might let you guys crash for a few nights. In the meantime, I know the road can be a fickle beast, so I hope it's treating you right.
